Mullae-dong is one of Seoul's last remaining industrial districts, home to steelworkers and a community of 300 artists
An uncertain future and the lack of building laws make the area a fertile ground for experiments and different urban concepts
Many of the residents thus started altering and tailoring their spaces to their needs
The project portrays 8 inhabitants and explores their visions for the neighbourhood
These visions were interpreted as spacial prototypes and rebuilt on site in the scale of 1:1

Installation of a rooftop garden, using decaying scrap as soil
Prototype of an exhibition space for steel workers
Interviews and installations were integrated in a digital reconstruction of the area
All content is combined into an interactive website allowing visitors to explore the neighbourhood on their own
Visitors can meet the district's inhabitants along a set path or explore the model freely
Each building is reconstructed and textured based on an image archive created on site
Interviews, installations and video perspectives from surrounding skyscrapers are viewed by clicking on icons
